CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

JOB SUMMARY

The Account Manager (AM) will be responsible for managing key categories of Sherwin Williams North America Consumer Brand Group’s largest client account, Lowe’s. This individual will work directly with the Lowe’s Merchandising team and be responsible for setting the longer-term strategy to achieve sales and performance goals, grow market share, manage/monitor pricing, product offerings, and competitive activity, analyze and make assortment recommendations, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Serves as primary contact for Lowe’s merchant over assigned product categories.
  • Develops the strategic direction for assigned product categories in alignment with SW and Lowe’s goals (i.e. pricing, product offering, competition, financial objectives, etc.)
  • Delivers against Sales and POS commitments. Provides weekly business update, analysis and insights to Lowe’s and internal customers on POS performance and market dynamics. Provides plans for improvement as needed.
  • Delivers P&L commitments for assigned product categories; tracks progress against goals in the form of quarterly business updates to internal team, including analysis of POS/shipments, promotional initiatives, competition, etc.
  • Identifies on new opportunities for expansion within Sherwin-Williams product portfolio and secures incremental business.
  • Works with cross functional teams (Supply Chain, Product & Channel Marketing, Training and Field Sales) in the development, planning and launch of new products including monthly forecast, training objectives and sales support materials.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Required:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred:
  • Strongly prefer Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration or related.
  • KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

a. Required:

  • Minimum 3+ years sales and/or sales related experience

b. Preferred:

  • Previous experience selling into Big Box stores (Lowe’s, Home Depot, Menards)
  • Previous account management experience
  • Previous sales experience in paint, building materials or home décor categories
  • Previous experience executing product line reviews
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Experience managing a P&L

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to sit, hear, and see on a constant basis.

Must be able to write and type on a frequent basis.

Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.

Employee must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and be able to wear a respirator as required.

Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.

Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
